The Future of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning

Whilst leveling my Choppa through tier 1 and now through tier 2 I've been wondering what lies in the future for WAR, will it be further condensed to 1 european server, will it fold completely or will it stabilise and carry on for many fruitful years?

I find myself thinking more of the latter and here's why.
  1. The game now has a pretty solid comitted player base, with those people either staying for the lore, the PvP or just the look of the game and these guys and gals won't be moving on to pastures new any time soon;
  2. There's a steady flow of new players joining the ranks, be these through the ever popular tier 1 with the trial account or returning players who've found that the grass isn't always greener on the other side (yes I'm looking at you Rift, go and stand in the corner!)
  3. The WAR competition isn't as strong as I thought it would be. WoW is a behemoth and a freak MMO so that can't be put in the same bracket but the likes of The Rift have shown that although you can have a good launch and some good ideas unless you cater for both PvE and PvP players alike then you're going to be in trouble. Add to that the fact that you have to hit 20 buttons before you can hit the one you actually want, it's added an unnecessary level of key bashing that we don't really want.
I'm hopeful that players that left WAR believing other MMOs could give them more than WAR start to realise that WAR is a pretty solid game at the end of the day and although Mythic-Bioware have taken their eye slightly off of the ball by throwing all their WAR developers at SW:ToR, we'll soon see further updates that the majority want/like soon.
